Tlusty is an intriguing name for a tryout. |

Really looking forward to Watching Morin this year. Provorov is garnering all the attention, but I wouldn't count out Morin. You just can't teach 6'6 225. His wingspan is huge. He is physical. He can move the puck and skate well, especially for a player of his size.
I personally think he is on the Flyers opening night roster. |

Provorov will probably earn the spot out of rookies but Hexy wont let the 18 year old play yet, IMO. Morin on the other hand is ready. Our defense lacks size and thats why I think we need him and he'll make the cut. |

Tlusty and Glencross could be interesting in regards to a tryout, but with 13 veteran forwards locked into 1 way deals, I'm not sure where they'd fit in.
Also, I want no part of Mike Richards.
And finally, I'm hoping Morin and Provorov make things really difficult for Hextall!

I'm going to take Hextall at his word. If Provorov and/or Morin, clearly outplay veterans and earn a top 4 spot, they will be on the roster. |

I would absolutely love to see Provorov. In my mind he is the front runner for future Flyers #1 D-man. |

They also have to prove they can outperform them for the entirety of a season, which is pretty difficult to do in one training camp. That's why I'd be surprised if Provorov made the roster. Even with Morin, I think he will end up on the Phantoms to start. They have to outplay a veteran without question. Not just look like they could play well enough. |

Ghost and Morin outplayed the veterans pretty badly last year. IMO |

I personally think it's pretty much a lock that he's sent down to the Phantoms. |

But Hextall didn't think it would last. Many veterans ease into the preseason, where prospects are playing their balls off with the hope of cracking the lineup. That has to be considered. And I don't think Ghost looked ready for a full time gig in the NHL just yet. |

With the Flyers having 9 d-men already signed and capable of playing professionally(NHL), I hope Morin, Hagg, Prov, Sanheim and co. all go back to their respective teams ASAP.
When the pre-season ends I hope our youngest d-man is MDZ. |

If Hextall was concerned about size, he would've kept Grossmann. Morin is going to start in the AHL in my opinion. |

IMHO, having Read, Umberger and Lecavalier bounce back are the biggest swing factors in this team making the playoffs. They're all capable of so much more than we got from them last year. |

In the few games he was called up, which is admittedly a short sample size, I think it was obvious that although he has really strong puck skills, Gostisbehere's game overall was not ready for the NHL. I doubt that has changed with all the time he missed due to injury. |

Not to mention Schenn and Couturier improving. A lot of ifs, but there is a lot of improvement that can be made internally on this team that could go a long way. |

I'm pretty sure they've had their eyes on Morin replacing Grossmann. But they wont rush it. Grossmann had to go when he did. |

If Umberger is healthy that will be a big boost. Healthy I think he is capable of 15 goals, 20 assists while playing a sound all around game. Add that to Read being healthy and HOPEFULLY seeing guys like Couts and Schenn take a big step... good things could be in store.
I dont think this team is a real cup contender, which is why I hope we dont see the young d-men hurried up to the big team. |

Agreed. Defensively he wasn't close. He was getting pushed around and unsure of himself. If he was only deployed on the PP, he may have been able to hang, but he needs more time, especially given his injury last year. |

Glad to see that Hextall and maybe Hakstol weren't fooled by Brayden Schenn's late production when nothing mattered.
Not sure if Hextall or Bill was the one to use the phrase "small sample size," but to me, there's no difference between what Schenn did and what a career minor-leaguer does in a September call-up who then gets hot for three weeks |
